"Everyone Laughed When I Sat Down At the Computer To Build A Web Site..."
This page is about this site and how it came to be.
I own a boatyard; Wareham Boatyard and Marina. I noticed that some of the more successful boatyards had Web sites.
I am not a programmer so I thought I would have to hire one and it would cost me a lot of money. I heard that some Web sites cost up to $10,000 or more. I didn't want to spend that much.
Some of the Web sites I looked at weren't that good and I thought I could do better than that.
Plus, I bought a few kayaks for rentals and that business was not providing much income. I thought I needed more advertising, but a Yellow Page ad cost a lost of money. The smallest ad in the Yellow Pages cost almost $100.00 per month. Way too expensive and I din't think the ROI was that good.
I looked at free Web sites. They didn't appeal to me. As a former Marketing Executive, I knew that they did no Internet marketing. Most of the free sites have an Alexa rank equal to "no data". This means they are invisible to the search engines (Google,Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, etc).
Invisible means no traffic comes to your Web site. No traffic equates to no return on investment (ROI).
I did my due diligence and a customer suggested I look at Sitesell. Here is what I found...
I wasn't quite convinced. I never heard of the company. It was in Canada. So I asked for some example Web sites. I wanted to see some real life honest to goodness working Web sites. Wow! There were a lot of them and it took me a while to check them all out.
But I was still skeptical. The Web sites looked good and they claimed to be in the top 1% of all Web sites on the Internet.
I wanted more proof that this would work and not being a programmer or computer geek, my friend suggested I click here..
I was convinced and now I have my own Web site and am indexed with the big search engines and receiving traffic more traffic every day.
It may not be your cup of tea, but it sure is making a difference in my business.
That's all there is about this site. Thanks for reading/listening.
