"The Three Horseman Of The Outboard Motor World - Acceleration Speed Weight..."

Acceleration Speed Weight

Acceleration speed weight

Like the crouched start of a 100 yard dash, the hole shot starts from zero and only the strong and swift can expect to win.

Look at how fast the Mercury Optimax 200 HP Pro get up to 30-miles per hour in only 7.6 seconds. It leaves the Evinrude 200 HP E-Tec in its wake. It took the Evinrude 200 HO E-Tec almost another second to equal the thrust of the Mercury Optimax 200 HP Pro.

And mid-range speed-ups from 40 to 60 miles per hour are equally revealing. The Mercury OptiMax 200 HP Pro took only 6.8 seconds to reach maximum speed of 60 miles per hour. Again, the Evinrude E-Tec 200 HO falls almost a second behind, while the Yamaha 200 VMAX HPDI did better than the Evinrude, but not good enough to beat the champ, the Mercury OptiMax 200 HP Pro.

Next, we look a the top speed of these outboard motors and the other outboard motors don't even come close.

Does that tell you something?
